Get ready for another binge-worthy romance from New York Times bestselling author Elle Kennedy!College was supposed to be my chance to get over my ugly-duckling complex and spread my wings. Instead, I wound up in a sorority full of mean girls. I already have a hard time fitting in, so when my Kappa Chi sisters issue the challenge, I can’t say no.
The dare: seduce the hottest new hockey player in the junior class.
Conor Edwards is a regular at Greek Row parties…and in Greek Row sorority beds. He’s the one you fall for before you learn that guys like him don’t give girls like me a second glance. Except Mr. Popular throws me for a loop—rather than laughing in my face, he does me a solid by letting me take him upstairs to pretend we’re getting busy.
Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it’s fun to pull the wool over my frenemies’ eyes.
But resisting his easy charm and surfer-boy hotness is darn near impossible. Though I’m realizing there’s much more to Conor’s story than his fan club can see.
And the longer this silly ruse goes on, the greater the danger of it all blowing up in my face.

She did it again...
Every book in this series just got better and better. I loved seeing the change and growth in Conor and ending the series with his story could not have been better. I said this after every book I finished in the series but...this was my favorite. If you want to read a great story with real struggles, insecurities, humor, and acts of love and selflessness, this is for you. And if you have an appreciation for great writing and well thought out details and back stories give this whole series a go, you won,t regret it! My biggest thanks to the author for the journey I just went on.

so good!
I love the other books in the series, and I was very sceptical about this one because of the reviews. As a curvier girl, this book made me so happy, it made me feel represented and appreciated. I feel like the author does a really good job of acknowledging how it feels in society now to not be super thin. I love this book much, and I love seeing this side of Connor. Honestly might be my favourite of the series. Must read!

Amazing!
Before reading I read the reviews and a lot of people didn’t like this book. However I felt I related to this book a lot more than the others and I loved it. The boy with a past the girl with weight problems and being teased yet somehow they find a way to make it work. The girl is different from the other 3 girls who were all known as skinny, but I thought it was just different enough.

Great series
I have read all these books and have loved each one!

Good
I had higher hopes for this one than the others when I read the reviews of it being about a “curvy” girl. I wanted more positivity around the fact that she was bigger aside from Connor but regardless I loved the book & Elles style of writing. I’m officially a fan. I’m sad this Briar U is over but onto the next series.

Love this book
It was so good to read. All of Elle books are. I read this one in 3 days could not put my phone down. I would love a 2nd book on the date. I would like a 2nd for all of them. I love all the characters. They are so good. Side note: I think I couldn’t put this one down bc I can relate to T on how she was in the beginning with wanting to hide.

I have literally bought and read all of these books. They are so good and amazing fine young romance books. I even wish there were more. Highly recommended starting with the first one and read them in order. Well worth it. ❤️❤️❤️

Loved it!!
I honestly have loved all the books starting from The Deal! I would love to read more like these. I loved how this book turned out, however, I am so sad that I finished the series. It’s bittersweet. All in all, I would totally reread the whole series. I loved all of the books!

Worth the read
While Garrett Graham in “The Deal” remains to be my #1 book boyfriend, Conor earns a spot in my heart too. He’s sweet, funny and a very nice guy. Taylor is definitely a lucky girl.馃檪 Needless to say, I enjoyed this story. The inclusion of Coach Jensen’s love life is also a plus for me. Kinda sad though, since this is the final of Briar U series but at least it ended really good. Job well done, Elle Kennedy! More good and fun stories, please.馃槉馃檹馃徎

Best book I’ve ever reas
I don’t think I’ve ever related to a character more than I relate to Taylor, and I’m so happy the author chose to write about a girl who doesn’t have the “ideal body type”. This book gave me hope and confidence in my own life!

So much to love
I had been waiting for this book and it did not disappoint. Love the way this story came together and all the ups and downs.

4 Stars for Con and T!
Elle Kennedy is back to deliver her last book in the Briar U series! In The Dare we follow Conor Edwards, a member of the Briar U hockey team who we met in the previous book of the series. Conor has been shown as a big ladies man, always hooking up with different girls and being the talk of the campus because of it. His reputation definitely precedes him when it comes to the ladies. Much to the point where he feels he's basically became more of a conquest to them than an actual person. And he's getting pretty bored of it all. Enter Taylor Marsh - a sorority girl with a major case of body insecurities. Her fuller figure makes her stand out amongst the other girls around and some of the girls in her sorority don't let her forget it, always finding a way to humiliate her. Which is why they dare her to seduce the notorious Conor Edwards - because why would a gorgeous guy like him even give her the time of the day? But to everyone's surprise, one dare turns into something neither Conor nor Taylor ever expected - love. I went into this with low expectations. Sad to say, but overall this spin off series hasn't really lived up to it's predecessor - the Off Campus series. Especially the last book was a big let down for me. However, this book was big step up from that and I genuinely did enjoy it. This gave me the same feelings I got while reading The Risk and Off Campus. I think this is one of the better books in this series. It really surprised me. First of all, I didn't expect Conor to be so sweet. I kinda expected him to be a sort of Dean clone. More cockiness in his personality than anything else. But in reality he was just very misunderstood, struggling to find who he was in the world, and full with so much love to give. He was the perfect guy for Taylor, no doubt about it. He loved her unconditionally with all her faults and despite her insecurities which he could not see at all. To him, Taylor Marsh is his perfect match. I loved him for being a great guy and always doing the right thing in the end and supporting/loving Taylor through everything she goes through in this story. Which brings me to talk about Taylor. It's crazy how much I could relate to her. Being a bigger girl myself, I could totally see where she was coming from on a bunch of things. Not wanting to show off her body by her clothing choices, getting fat shamed, and not thinking you're good enough to be with a good looking guy...the list goes on. I liked the journey she went on in this. From letting the mean girls get to her, to in the end being fed up with it and standing up for herself. And with the help of her friends and Conor, she's learning to accept herself the way she is - that she is beautiful and desirable and is worthy of Conor's affections. In the end, she and Conor made one another better people. They both had issues of not thinking the other was good enough for each other. Conor with his identity crisis because of actions/choices he made in the past and Taylor because of her insecurities. I liked how they were both dealing with the same things, just in different ways. And sadly these things did tear them apart more than once in the story (which is why I deducted a star), but they did find their way back to one another. Overall, it was a wonderful love story between them. So, what should you expect? - Fake Dating - Friends To Lovers - Curvy Heroine - Ladies Man with a Heart Of Gold Also TW for: body/fat shaming & body insecurities. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, don't hesitate to pick this one up!

I love everything by Elle. They’re easy reads and so addicting. I always catch myself staying up until 2 AM because I can’t stop. I’ve read the entire Briar U and Off Campus series and I can never get enough. This one is no exception to that. Congrats on another amazing release, Elle ♡

Good but
I really like the book so far, but the amount of skinny shaming really hurts. People need to realize that being skinny isn’t much of a choice and reading books and seeing all these curvy women being thirsted over by guys makes us really insecure. At one point the author wrote in Conor’s perspective, “Women are supposed to be soft and curvy and squeezable” like women aren’t SUPPOSED to be anything I thought

So sad this is the end ;( loved the book. Connor and Taylor are so sweet. The interactions with Con’s roommates were some of the funniest. And the whole thing with coach as my favorite! Just had a big smile on my face reading about it.. especially since he was in every book. Anyway, Connor gave me Dean and Tucker vibes, he was so sweet with Taylor!! Thank you Elle for creating this amazing universe ❤️

Incredible book
I love every single book written by Ellen Kennedy she has a way to made feel connected to every story she writes. I enjoy the book very much I laugh so hard all the time and I finished the book in just 2 days it was super fun and hilarious. I love the story between Connor and Taylor it’s such a sweet and funny story that only thing that I didn’t like was how extremely insecure Taylor was, even though I feel identified with her in some aspects while I was reading sometimes made me feel annoyed. But for that I love the book and I absolutely love Connor and his part in the story was my favorite!

Another great Installment!
I absolutely love this new book. The characters are so very down to earth and the banter is to die for! Absolutely loved laughing throughout the story and hope there’s more Briar U where this came from!

The Dare
OMG!! This was a fantastic book. Hilariously funny 馃槀. I haven’t laughed like this in a good while. I truly loved it and definitely can relate to Taylor and her insecurities. I have a awesome husband who loves me when I’m thin or heavy. I’ve battled with weight my whole life and understand her reservations while also hiding behind clothes. This really touched home. It’s hard these days to find a man like Connor who truly loved Taylor for her and not what she looked like. Fat shaming and body image issues is a stigma happening more and more today. The fact she found value and self worth in herself was uplifting. Taylor also found the courage to fight and stand up for herself. A great book for any young person to read. 馃憦馃憦馃憦

Boring with No Substance
This is quite possibly the worst book I’ve ever read. The characters aren’t compelling and the subject matter in the book lacks any substance. It’s predictable. I understand that it wasn’t meant to be a literary novel and thought it might be a fun read. But it was so trivial and such a common story that I couldn’t even finish it.

Fake relationship that fell a bit short of expectations
Elle Kennedy's Off Campus series is one of my favorite series ever, just completely perfect. Its the one series I constantly recommend, whether someone is looking for a great sports romance or new adult series. All the books were five star reads for me and the week I spent reading them in 2019 was a great reading memory for me. That being said, I was so disappointed with The Dare. The Briar U spin off series has been hit or miss for me, I enjoyed The Chase and The Risk were fun reads, but I DNF The Play due to some content I found problematic. I kind of wish I DNF'd The Dare too... I'll start by saying there were quite a few moments that I found myself smiling at. I enjoyed their meet-cute and how their fake relationship turned into a real one. I loooove fake relationship plots and those moments with Taylor and Connor pretending to date in the beginning were great. I thought the moments with Connor's friends were hilarious and reminded me a lot of the great banter from Off Campus. And I always appreciate a hero that is *really* into the heroine (although at times their chemistry felt off to me) I'm all for a plus size heroine but Taylor was SO insecure. If you compare yourself to two of the hottest supermodels, own it! Her insecurities and negative self-talk made it really hard for me to connect with her story. I really struggled with all the subplots in this story, I kind of hate the "mean sorority girl" trope and I really disliked all those parts in the story. Also Connor's shady backstory subplot felt out of place and a little unnecessary. I kept expecting characters from his past to pop back up because that storyline felt so unfinished. I really hate miscommunication and I felt like the final conflicts Connor and Taylor had were a little too much. Overall, The Dare was a 2-2.5 star for me. This was one of my most anticipated summer reads and I'm so sad it fell short for me.
I Love Story Time
4.5 Stars!
Eeeeek! I loved this book! Conor, Conor, Conor.... holy hotness! Loved this sexy, smirky, witty, delicious character. He was adorable, and I could not get enough of him! I have loved all of the amazing stories and characters from Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus and Briar U series. I’m sad to see them come to an end, so I savored every bit of Conor and Taylor’s story. I loved how brave Taylor was when it came to that silly sorority game. It was so cute how Conor played right along and didn’t skip a beat. I really enjoyed how Conor responded to Taylor. You could feel the crackle of electricity between them. I loved the angst, the witty dialogue, and all the emotions their story brought out in me. Most of all, I loved that their story made me smile. My favorite books are those that leave me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what this author releases next. Until then, happy reading. The Dare is a MUST! ~Review by Lys

Sooooooo. I devoured this book in hours. Taylor!! Loved her so. Wish she saw herself like others see her... Conor... seriously cool, kind, awesome. It starts on a dare or dare... And who doesn’t like to play a game on the mean girl you know? Then stuff starts to get and feel real! I hardcore love this hockey series! Loved this so big!

GREAT FINALE
I fell in love with these characters and that school 10 pages into The Deal. Elle’s stories and relationships only got better through all 8 books! I have been waiting for The Dare FOREVER and it was everything I hoped for. Conor and Taylor’s banter had me laughing out loud and their deep conversations left me teary-eyed. I couldn’t imagine a better ending to the Briar U Hockey boys!!

Another great addition to the Briar U Universe
I love this series. These books are always so much fun to read. I loved Conor and Taylor. And like the previous books in this series The Dare was a lot of fun to read and had me laughing out loud quite a few times. Though it does have it's funny and light moments The Dare felt a little bit more serious than the previous books in this series. Both Conor and Taylor are dealing with their own issues in life and insecurities rear their ugly heads in both of them when they get together. I can really sympathize with Taylor and her struggles. It's something that a lot of woman also struggle with, and it was very realistic and heart wrenching reading about her struggle and her working through it all. Conor is that type of man that you wish you could find in real life. He's so amazing with Taylor. Their friendship in the beginning before they get together was one of my favorite parts. When he notices her insecurities with herself, he never stops trying to show her how beautiful she is, even while he's dealing with his own insecurities, and she does the same for him. I loved these two together. These two think that they are the opposite of good for each other, but they are exactly what the other one needs. This story was sweet, it was funny, steamy, and it was also realistic. Overall it was a really great romance read. I wouldn't say it's light do to the topics, and things that the characters struggle with throughout this book, but like always Elle Kennedy's writing captures your attention and keeps you hooked to the story. Another great addition to the Briar U Universe.

Insecurities to Happiness
Oh how I adored Conor and Taylor! The Dare is such a fantastic friends to lovers, fake relationship to real story and I just couldn't get enough! I so connected with Taylor and her insecurities about her view of herself. She just couldn't fully accept that this sexy Viking god of Conor Edwards was this in to her. But then Conor was rockin his own insecurities about where he came from and how he lived in the past. This pair. Man they were sweet, funny, sexy as hell and I cheered for them to figure their stuff out and come out the other side of a happy ending. Thank you Elle Kennedy for continuing to give us fantastic characters and stories in the Briar world!

Elle Kennedy has a fan for life!
Briar U is one of my absolute favorite NA series ever and I am crossing all my fingers and toes that there’s more to come, even if they’re spin-offs. Elle Kennedy kicks ass at writing these hockey players. I absolutely loved Conor Edwards! He was so perfect, and ended up being a big old softy, but also an Alpha when he needed to. Taylor and Conor were so amazing together. Their dialogue was perfectly written as well as the evolution of their romance. If this is the end of the Briar gang, then I’ll probably cry. I adore these books. Elle Kennedy has a fan for life! ~ 4.5 Stars

An entertaining standalone in the Briar U series!
NO SPOILERS! The Dare was a sexy, angsty, funny, and entertaining standalone new adult sports romance in the Briar U series, and I really enjoyed Conor and Taylor’s story. I liked the storyline. I really didn’t know what to fully expect with the plot for The Dare, but Elle Kennedy definitely threw in some unexpected twists and turns. I didn’t love every aspect, but it was pretty enjoyable and entertaining, and I was pleased with the conclusion to Conor and Taylor’s story. The characters were the best part. I loved Conor and Taylor so much. They had wonderful personalities and fantastic chemistry together, and I liked how their relationship progressed throughout. Conor and Taylor each had insecurities they needed to work through, and definitely had ups and downs, but I loved them dearly and enjoyed watching their romance unfold. The Dare was a sexy, funny, angsty, and entertaining standalone new adult sports romance in the Briar U series from Elle Kennedy, and I really enjoyed Conor and Taylor’s story. Elle Kennedy has done an amazing job with the Briar U series, and while I’m sad it’s finished, I can’t wait to see what she has in store for readers next!

Friends to lovers sport romance
Conor and Taylor's friends to lovers story was fantastic, I love both characters so much. I always enjoy a dare trope book and this one was no exception. Taylor has some insecurities making her real and Conor was the one that showed her the way to overcome them. The whole story is sweet and swoony, the romance is perfect and as always you get the humor and angst level of Elle Kennedy within the whole series. I am loving each book more than the one before. Sport romance combined with a dare is just a perfect read for any day, brilliant 5 stars!

Amazing!
I'm not even surprised that I finished this book in a day. Like seriously, I could not put it down. I've been a fan of Briar U since the Off Campus series. We have arrived at the final book of the Briar U series and it did not disappoint. We've met Conor in previous Briar U books and I'm so glad he got his own book. Especially after the previous book The Play. There was something more to his story and I'm so glad we got to jump into his point of view and watch him meet his match. And that match is Taylor. They are ridiculously cute and just perfect together. The moment they meet, something sparks. When Taylor is dared to seduce Conor at a party, she surprises him by telling him that she doesn't want an actual hook-up but she would appreciate him playing along. Immediately intrigued, he does. Truly a gentleman and quite a sweetheart, he won't hesitate to help someone. Their fake hookup turns in to two people getting to know one another and having a real connection. Though Taylor at first doesn't believe that anything will come from it. But soon they find themselves drawn back together. And next thing they know, they are pretend dating to get Taylor's petty sorority sisters off her back and for Conor, he is genuinely curious to where this could go. But there is more to either of them. Taylor has always been self-conscious of her body. So she finds it hard to believe that Conor sees beautiful when he looks at her. Conor has put on many masks. He never felt like he was good enough. He grew up with nothing until his mom married this guy. He made mistakes as a teen and the guilt of some bad choices has weighed heavy on him through the years. But when Conor and Taylor are together, for the first time they both feel like they can just be themselves. As they find themselves slowly realizing that what they have is real, trouble finds them. Conor's past comes back to haunt him and Taylor finds her in a situation she never asked to be part of. Both will try and pull away, yet their connection is too strong to truly keep away from another. Instead they fight for one another. Their story was just really great. Romantic and real and I couldn't put it down. I laughed so hard at their banter and of course all the hockey boys and their craziness. I cheered for the Conor and Taylor slowly overcoming their deepest insecurities that are just so relatable. Great, great book. Never a disappointment with this series. And I'm so sad it's the last one! (Though I will always hope that changes.) I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Loved it!
Briar U has a new hot couple in town and I have a new favorite. I love a good hockey romance, add in college age and you better believe I am one clicking it... add in that Elle wrote it and hands down I buy every time. Conor has always intrigued me and lets just say his story did not disappoint. I'm ready to read it again if you want me to be honest. This was side of him I wasn't expecting. It was sweet, kind and swoony. Out of all the Briar guys, I think Conor is my favorite.

Fantastic ending to the Briar U series!
Life is funny sometimes. Funny how a simple bet—well, maybe not so simple when it involves snarky sorority sisters, alcohol and sex—can change just about everything in someone’s life. For the better. Which is just what happens between Conor and Taylor. All it takes is a bet and a fake relationship that turns into a chance at something real. I loved Conor and Taylor. Loved their instant connection, their immediate friendship. And of course their undeniable attraction to each other. I loved their banter, their snark, and of course their sexiness. They were perfect for each other. Especially when life got real—when they really put their relationship to the test. Conor and his swoony, smart, sexy ways smoothed over Taylor’s insecurities. And Taylor did the same for Conor. I loved how they worked things through, even when it wasn’t an easy discussion. Oh, sure, there were some bumps in the road, but in the end, Taylor and Conor’s love and friendship pulled through—with a little help from their friends. I hate to see this excellent Briar U series end, but it certainly ends on a high note with The Dare.

Elle saved the best for last!
When Elle Kennedy had said that Hunter’s book was going to be the last book in the Briar U series, I was a little sad that we weren’t going to get a story for Conor. So, when she announced that Conor was getting a book, I was ECSTATIC, and she didn’t disappoint with his story! Conor Edwards is one of the hottest guys on campus, and he knows it. Girls flock to him and can’t resist his charm. So, when Taylor needs his help with a challenge laid down by some of her Kappa Chi sisters, Conor, being the good guy that he is, plays along. What was supposed to be him helping her out one time turns out to be more when he decides he’s having too much fun pulling the messing with her sorority sisters. The more time they spend together, the more the line between fake and real blurs. Taylor thinks guys like Conor could never be attracted to girls like her, but Conor is out to prove her wrong. I absolutely loved this story. I could totally relate to Taylor and her insecurities and I absolutely loved Conor. I won’t delve much deeper because I don’t want to spoil anything, but what I will say is Conor Edwards is the guy all girls want. He may be one of the hottest guys on campus, but he’s also extremely sweet and caring and the way he helps Taylor come out of her shell gave me ALL THE FEELS. I also love the back and forth between all of the guys. These boys are so much more than hockey players and it seriously melts my heart when we get to revisit them! I truly think Elle saved the best Briar U book for last!

Briar U - I Dare You!
I absolutely love a well written series. I love being able to reconnect with favorite characters. To see how their storylines evolve. And I love being introduced to new characters. The Dare by Elle Kennedy is the 4th book in her Briar U series...which is a spin-off for her brilliant Off Campus series. Briar U can be read as a stand-alone; but I always think one is rewarded by reading the whole series! This time around the story features Briar U hockey star Conor Edwards aand new comer Taylor Martin; who coincidentally hook up during a sorority dare of all things. Funny and witty; light hearted and serious at times, The Dare will keep its readers interest until the last sentence. And leave them hoping for more. I know that I personally would be quite happy if Ms. Kennedy decided to write another book in the Briar U universe.

5 Conor MF Edwards Stars!
I FLOVED The Dare! I had so much fun and laughed a lot! Conor is flirty, super chill and easy going. Of course he's a hottie too so there's no shortage of girls but he was tired of the hook ups and wanted something different. Lucky for him that's when he meets Taylor. Taylor is such a sweet girl and so smart. She doesn't know how beautiful she is inside & out. I love her! I adore Conor! They have amazing chemistry and have so much fun together. They bring out the best in each other. I love their banter and the things Conor did for Taylor is so cute. Both had insecurities but had each other to help get over them. I LOVE the Off-Campus / Briar U series so much. The characters and their stories. I would love for Coach Jensen to get a book cause he's amazing! His interaction with the players and Brenna is always entertaining.

Best book I’ve ever reas
I don’t think I’ve ever related to a character more than I relate to Taylor, and I’m so happy the author chose to write about a girl who doesn’t have the “ideal body type”. This book gave me hope and confidence in my own life!

The Dare

Good
I had higher hopes for this one than the others when I read the reviews of it being about a “curvy” girl. I wanted more positivity around the fact that she was bigger aside from Connor but regardless I loved the book & Elles style of writing. I’m officially a fan. I’m sad this Briar U is over but onto the next series.

4.5 Stars!

This fake to real sports romance is everything!

Good but
I really like the book so far, but the amount of skinny shaming really hurts.

4.5 Stars!

This fake to real sports romance is everything!

This book was just the one to bring the series to a close. I’m sad to see this cast of characters go, but I sure did enjoy getting to know them!!!

Good
I had higher hopes for this one than the others when I read the reviews of it being about a “curvy” girl. I wanted more positivity around the fact that she was bigger aside from Connor but regardless I loved the book & Elles style of writing. I’m officially a fan. I’m sad this Briar U is over but onto the next series.

It was so good to read. All of Elle books are. I read this one in 3 days could not put my phone down. I would love a 2nd book on the date. I would like a 2nd for all of them.
